The Saudi Arabian Standards Organization (SASO), is now enforcing the requirement of G-Marking for Low Voltage (LV) Electrical Products and Toys. If you export any of the products listed below, then compliance with the G-Mark Technical Regulation alongside the SASO Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is now mandatory.
Adopting the right approach will ensure you avoid costly fines, delayed shipments, or risk of company blacklisting at KSA Customs Ports and Borders.
Product types required to comply with the G-Mark Technical Regulation:
A SASO Certificate of Conformity cannot be issued for any of the applicable products unless evidence of the G-mark is given.
Test reports according to the listed standards are required in order to apply for the G-mark from a notified body.
Once issued, the G-Mark is supplied as a high-resolution image that can be printed/affixed to the product, manual and retail packaging. Marking the shipment packaging is optional but is advisable to ensure smooth clearance at customs.
The list of notified bodies and HS codes requiring the G-Mark is always being updated. Please contact XDS today for an up to date list of notified bodies and confirm if your product is required to comply with the G-Mark Technical Regulation.
