When speed is of the essence: Export compliance to Saudi Arabia has never been quicker for this international business
EnerSys is the global leader in batteries, chargers and accessories for motive, reserve, aerospace and defence applications.
XDS Solutions has been providing fully managed export compliance services to the business’s Saudi Arabian and Nigerian export teams since August 2015. We recently caught up with the EnerSys Shared Service Centre Export Team to discover a little more about the export challenges they faced, and the solutions they’ve discovered to fix them…
Exporting to Saudi Arabia:
“Historically EnerSys Saudi had used one of the well-known multinational export compliance firms to process the inspection and compliance certification requirements of its reserve power battery exports. But, we’d been experiencing longer and longer delays, and struggled with the lack of personal support and flexibility we received.
Export compliance was slow. In fact, we often found that it would take up to 3 weeks from initial request to inspection and to finally be issued with a new, or updated certificate of conformity,” explained the EnerSys Shared Service Centre Export Team.
“Obviously this situation could not be allowed to impact our telecom and utility end customers, and so we decided to migrate our export compliance work over to XDS. Now, instead of web based forms we have a single account manager, who understands our business and the Saudi customs compliance requirements implicitly.
If changes are needed to a compliance certificate I simply pick up the phone to XDS. Our account manager’s helpful, responsive approach means that applying for a new or updated compliance certificate is now a 1-day process, with the first draft received by the end of the working day.
The service XDS provides is second to none. The team is always open to suggestions, and work hard to find tailored compliance solutions to fit our specific export challenges,” concluded the team.
