British Export in the Spotlight
We were honoured to join graduates and fellow members at the prestigious Institute of Export Prize Giving and Graduation ceremony last night, held at the Lord Mayor of London’s residence, Mansion House, London.
With XDS Solutions Director, Chris Rowe, proudly taking to the stage to present The XDS Solutions Prize for Highest Mark in International Transport and Documentation to worthy winner Rachel Howell, from Pet Brands. Europe’s industry leader, designer and manufacturer of accessories and treats for pets and wild birds,
The Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) holds the event in order to show it’s appreciation of the dedication and commitment students have put into their studies and to give them an opportunity to meet with fellow students, employers and dignitaries involved in international trade.
This year the Lord Mayor of London, Andrew Parmley, Lord Green of Hustpierpoint, former Trade Minister and Chairman of HSBC, as well as the IOE&IT Young President Arne Mielken MIEx GAVEas keynote speakers.
Professor Sujit Banerji – executive director, Post Graduate Programs, WMG at Warwick University – was also in attendance sharing his insights into the changes in industry needs in international trade.
Commenting after the event, Chris Rowe said, “In these exciting, but uncertain times, international trade and export is critical to British business. Having such highly capable and motivated new graduates join the ranks of export professionals is a positive step. It is the tactical know-how in all aspects of export, not least international transport and export documentation, that will smooth the road and help British exporters maximise the opportunites created by international trade”.
